Abstract

“Internships” are needed by students to master certain skills or expertise. Besides that, it is the main requirement for completing the education process. Under the guidance and supervision of instructors or more experienced workers, students will carry out the assignments given for 6 months. So I lived it from November 1St, 2019 until May 1St, 2020. I am an intern at Vasa Hotel - Surabaya. Vasa Hotel is a five star hotel located in the West Surabaya. Besides that, Vasa Hotel has exclusive quality specialy culinary section. I was placed in Western Food and indeed my cooking skills tend to be western food. Many experiences that I got there. At first I was trained in basic cooking skills such as how to cut, prepare ingredients, process food ingredients properly. And not only that, but I was trained how to serve customers well and politely. Especially if the customer complains. So in addition to getting a comprehensive education, internships are also very necessary for students to hone their skills so they can become professional chef.
